checked out the pics of the reunion. Sorry I couldn't make it this time. Laura and I just got back from AZ and had to work this month so we could play this summer!! Saw that OD attended. Would like to get his email as if he, or any of you, are in Seattle, give me a ring. Laura and I plan to be here the summer months and hope to relocate next year in AZ for the winter (we had snow last week here in Seattle!!) . Also, Alamo, would have loved to see you, got some pics of you if you'd like. Take care all.....Jack

Guys, Sorry I missed the C 4/3 reunion. The airline here was late out of Denver due to weather. This placed me in Kansas City late. Tried to rebook,no seats on any flights available, they then said I would have to wait in KC for 36 hours and then try to rebook again. They might get me to Louisville by Saturday night. What a joke. I was so pissed off, but they had me, nothing I could do. My wife drove to KCI to pick me up, not happy. So I am out about $250 for my little flight to KCI and additional costs. Sure did want to see you all. I just sat around the house and cussed quietly to myself for the next couple of days. All that planning for nothing. Stupid airlines !!! Hope you guys had a great time. I talk with Bill Stilwagen yesterday in regards to the crash site. I hope all that remember and were there help in in his quest. WO Shields wife needs closure. For those that were there and helped in the recovery WO Shields would have been seated in the left front. I removed WO Bozinski from the right side. There seems to be alittle misinformation on what occured that day. As far as most accounts Co. C was not there. There seems to be very little or anything regarding why we were there. If anyone has any pictures or can help in anyway please get in touch with Mr. Stilwagen. Mrs. Shield and a couple of family members will be returning to the crash site sometime in April of this year so help this women and her family find the peace that that looking for. This downing of this chopter occured Aug. 15th 1969.

Greetings heroes, In April, I'm taking the widow of pilot WO1 Shields to the 15 Aug 1969 crash site where 6 soldiers from Bravo Company 4/3 and all 4 crewmen perished. The crash was at BS-622-352 (south of San Juan Hill). Does anyone remember the incident or what Bravo's mission was that day? I need to be accurate in the accounting and any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

Hi guys. I was with the 3rd plt, 3rd squad from Jan 68-Jan 69. Was wounded on 27 Feb 68 when Beam stepped on one. Dillard was killed also. Someone helped me up the hill that day, just want to find out who? Also there were 2-3 other wounded that same event. Curious as to who ? I am writing a short book for the kids/grandkids. Just need some help to fill in the blanks. It has been 40 years now, time to remember so we can pass it on. Hope to hear from anyone that was with C 4/3 68

Just now made my reservation at the Hampton Inn and still managed to get the good rate even at this late date. Forgot to make the reservation even after R. Harris was good enough to call and remind me. Out of the clear blue, I got a call from Ron Espinoza in California. Hadn't talked to him in 40 years. It was great hearing from him and Harris. I have never been to any of the reunions but am looking forward to it. To update my info on the members list, I was a Sgt E-5 squad leader in the 2nd platoon from Nov 1967 till May 1968 when I left Vietnam.

You need to mention "The Old Guard Reunion" when checking in the Hampton Inn in Clarksville (812-280-1501). They listed it as "The Old Guard Reunion" instead of "Old Guard Reunion," and some of the people who work there cannot find it in the computer if you only say " Old Guard Reunion." You need to register at Hampton Inn by December and mail the registration to Robert Harris by February 1, 2008.

The new website looks great. Hope to make the reunion in 2008. Hard for me to believe its been near 40 years since Vietnam besides losing hair and adding few face wrinkles I haven't changed abit.
